Polotsk-Steklovolokno plans to invest $56 million in production development

Over the past 30 years, OJSC Polotsk-Steklovolokno has increased its annual output of fiberglass in physical terms by 3.2 times, BELTA reports. Ilya Ikan, the company's CEO, spoke about the company's operations during a visiting meeting of the Belneftekhim concern council in Svetlogorsk.

According to the CEO, over the past 30 years, the company has not only restored but also increased its production volumes several times. The foreign sales markets for its products have been expanded, and its workers have been provided with decent wages.

The annual output of fiberglass has increased from 36.8 million meters in 1994 to 118.3 million meters in 2023. Fiberglass output has increased by 5.6 times over this period: from 7,000 tons to 39,700 tons.

The CEO also called the progress in export policy serious. If in 1994 Polotsk-Steklovolokno exported 14% of its output, then in 2023 up to 85.4% were sent to foreign markets. Shipments are made to 50 countries of the world, to 220 contractors.

About the prospects

At the enterprise, as Ilya Ikan noted, the development program until 2030 has been updated. Its implementation will allow the production of competitive products in demand on the domestic and foreign markets.

According to the general director, Polotsk-Steklovolokno plans to invest about 56 million dollars in the development of production until 2030. About $11 million dollars are mastered annually.

Today Polotsk-Steklovolokno produces over 1 thousand items of goods. The enterprise has 5 thousand units of special equipment, 3.1 thousand people work here.

In recent years, there has been a reduction in staff. According to data for 2022, the number of employees at the enterprise was 3821 people, in 2020 - about 4 thousand people.
